Tap the strings and make sounds.

Tapping Approach

Use both hands to tap the strings. You can use either hand on either side of the stick (melody or bass) or both on one side. The intended hand position has you play the bass side with your left hand and the melody with your right, similar to a piano or other keyboard instrument. The Stick's design forces you to hold it nearly upright which is by far the most comfortable position to tap in.

Standing

Sitting

There several most likely unwanted consequences of the belt hook:

  • if you don't wear a belt, it tends towards "crotching"
  • the Stick is nearly impossible to play while seated unless you attempt a cello-like stance (instrument held upright between your legs).

String Spacing

This instrument is exclusively for tapping so the string space is insufficient for finger plucking and most other standard techniques. Also, with the strings so close to the fretboard, use of normal techniques were one able to pull them off would be disproportionally loud.
