Stick instruments use one of three different pickups.

Stickup

The Stickup is a basic passive stereo pickup module. It provides separate volume controls for the bass and melody sides of the instrument. The output is a single 1/4-inch TRS jack.

ACTV-2

The ACTV-2 pickup is an active pickup module that is standard on the Stick Bass and available as an option for regular Sticks and Grand Sticks. The pickup can also be retrofitted to Sticks with other pickups.

The pickup uses two active EMG stacked double coil pickups. It provides separate volume and tone controls for the bass and melody sides of the instrument. The ACTV-2 has two separate 1/4-inch jacks to allow for separate output of the bass and melody sites. A switch is provided which when activated will cause the melody and bass to be combined on the bass output's TRS jack.

Being an active pickup, the ACTV-2 is powered by a single 9-volt battery which provides for approximately 3000 hours of play. The battery is automatically switched off when the cord in unplugged.

PASV-4

The PASV-4 is a passive quad pickup module designed by Villex. It uses four passive, single coil, bar pickups. The output is a single 1/4-inch TRS jack. Unlike the other two pickups, the PASV-4 has a mono switch to combine both sides of the Stick.
